Johnny Lee Middleton über das kommende Savatage-Studioalbum: „Es ist eine Art Mix aus allem“
Hinsichtlich eines neuen Studioalbums bestätigte der Bassist, dass die Band auf einem riesigen Berg an fertigem Material sitze. Da Jon Oliva kontinuierlich neue Songs schreibe, warte die Band lediglich auf den geschäftlich und logistisch optimalen Veröffentlichungszeitpunkt. Die musikalische Ausrichtung beschreibt Middleton als Destillat der gesamten Bandhistorie: „Wenn man alle Alben in einen Mixer stecken würde, ist es genau das, was man bekommt.“ Das Material vereint extrem harte Stücke mit melodischeren Passagen im Stile von Edge Of Thorns. Gesanglich wird das Album aufgeteilt: Die eine Hälfte der Songs wird vom langjährigen Sänger Zak Stevens eingesungen, die andere Hälfte übernimmt Jon Oliva selbst. Für das Jahr 2027 stellt die Band zudem eine Rückkehr auf die US-Bühnen in Aussicht, vorzugsweise im Rahmen eines Package-Touren-Konstrukts mit anderen Bands, um die Produktionskosten zu teilen.

Middleton also confirmed that Savatage is sitting on a wealth of unreleased material, noting that Oliva continues to write new music while the band waits for the ideal market timing to release a new studio album. Describing the musical direction of the new songs, the bassist noted that the material balances incredibly heavy riffs with melodic stylings reminiscent of Edge Of Thorns, comparing the sound to putting the band's entire discography into a blender. In a significant structural move, vocal duties on the record will be split equally between current touring vocalist Zak Stevens and Jon Oliva. Looking ahead to 2027, Middleton indicated that the reunited band is currently evaluating tour offers for the United States, targeting package tours with other artists to make a return financially viable.
