Die im Jahr 2009 in Brescia gegründete Formation durchlief in ihrer Geschichte mehrere evolutionäre Phasen: Während die Anfänge stark von Ikonen wie Kyuss, Karma to Burn und Orange Goblin geprägt waren, öffnete sich der Sound ab 2015 hin zu längeren, atmosphärischeren Kompositionen. Nach dem Einstieg von Mascheroni Ende 2022 folgte im Jahr 2026 die jüngste personelle Veränderung: Als Gründungsmitglied Giorgio Bonacorsi aus der Band ausschied, holten die verbliebenen Musiker den Schlagzeuger Fabio Giacomini ins Boot, um die Rhythmusfraktion zu komplettieren. Mit diesem frischen Line-up und dem neuen Album im Gepäck festigen Humulus ihren Status als eine der umtriebigsten und dynamischsten Kräfte der südeuropäischen Underground-Szene.

Announces New Album 'Smuggler's Cave'
Originally formed in 2009 under the heavy lineage of stoner rock titans like Kyuss and Orange Goblin, Humulus has steadily mutated over the years. A pivotal lineup change in 2015 pushed the power trio into more progressive, atmospheric, and trippy territories, leading to prominent festival appearances at Desertfest Belgium and Freak Valley. Following the late 2022 addition of Mascheroni and extensive touring alongside peers like Colour Haze and Monkey3, the band underwent another major shift in early 2026 when founder Giorgio Bonacorsi stepped back. The remaining core members quickly recruited Fabio Giacomini to complete the active lineup, culminating in what is described as the band's most ambitious and unapologetic studio effort to date.
